These scenes from an average morning journey to work show the city coming alive. What does the river of people say to you- vibrant life or oppression?
Experiment 1: Lanes
We wanted to see if people would follow footway lanes like vehicles follow lanes on the carriageway. We created pedestrian lanes in Oxford Street, outside the tube exit and close to a crossing.
Most people did not follow the directions, but some followed the centre line when walking.
We will try again with more visible tape and a less complex street environment!

Milano Public Design Festival
We submitted proposals to Milano Public Design Festival. The design was for urban furniture will be made of the waste produced in three months by five people living together in London . We showed how people could sit, lie, kneel and roll on a mattress of waste.
